New technologies enhance ophthalmological services in Armenia.

Watch the video of the first telesurgery session established between Children's Hospital of Los Angeles and Malayan Eye Center in Yerevan, Armenia.

Dr. Thomas Lee, Director of the Retina Department at the Vision Center of Children's Hospital of Los Angeles, and Dr. Armen Vardanyan, Chief of the Vitreoretinal Department of the Malayan Eye Center, successfully tested an innovative online system designed to train and monitor surgeons. Dr. Lee was able to observe surgery in Armenia from Los Angeles in real time through an imaging device connected to the surgical endoscope and to discuss the procedure with his colleague working at Malayan Eye Center in Yerevan.

This initiative has enormous potential for training surgeons via a large-scale telemedicine program throughout Armenia. You may participate in our mission with your donation.

Our mission is eliminating
preventable blindness and
making eye care accessible to
all people in Armenia.
